"Where DISCOVERY is in the journey!"

“I was born and raised here in the Snoqualmie Valley. I come from a wonderful family firmly rooted in this community. I was educated here, and that contributed to my desire to open The Discovery Preschool here.
After graduating from Mt. Si, I attended Central Washington University where I earned my degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. After graduating, I taught first grade at Fall City Elementary School…which I loved. I took some time off from teaching to have my own children, with the hopes of one day opening a preschool.
I have always loved young children and their innate curiosity and zest for life. The Discovery Preschool has been a dream of mine for many years. I am so fortunate that I not only get to live my professional dream, but also that my own children get to be a part of this amazing school.”

“I am so excited to be a part of The Discovery Preschool. I have a Bachelors degree in sociology and a minor in child development. I have spent over 12 years working in various settings with young children and their families.
I was raised and graduated from college in Northern California (1994) where I first began working with preschool aged children. I did an internship in a Head Start Program and worked in the lab-school at Humboldt State University.
I moved to Seattle in 1995 and was the lead teacher in a NAEYC Accredited school in the Queen Anne area for over 3 years. During the summer, I also run the preschool program at a friend’s summer camp on the Issaquah plateau.
Children and their vibrant energy are a big part of my life. A child’s first teacher has a great responsibility to foster a love of learning and a positive image of school. It’s an honor to be entrusted with their care.”

“I was born and raised in Snoqualmie Valley, and I am a product of this empowering district. Therefore, these communities are close to my heart.
I graduated from Central Washington University with my degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Special Education. I was blessed with the opportunity to teach first grade at Fall City Elementary School for four years. This was a dream come true and each year provided me with many opportunities to continue my education and improve my craft. I have created many special bonds with students, parents and colleagues.
Most recently, I took a leave of absence to focus on my two children. Teaching is an important part of who I am. I am thankful that I am able to continue empowering students in this new capacity.”

“Coming from a family of educators, I've always known that I wanted to be a teacher. I am a graduate of Central Washington University with a BA degree in Elementary Education. I started my career teaching Kindergarten, which I did for 4 years before having my first child.
While my daughter was little, I started the Polka Dot Preschool. For 4 years, I taught preschool with kids ages 3-5 and I still had time to spend with my own children. Now, as my children are getting older, it's time for me to move on yet again. I am very excited to continue teaching at The Discovery Preschool!!!”
